You can also do it against the wall for a more natural functional position, using band or roller behind the back, good concept to address

A good move, although inducing a flat back is not ideal. Ideal would be having a consistent lumbar curvature for that person. I would suggest putting a towel roll the thickness of your hand at the apex of your lumbar spine. Furthermore, I would also suggest contraction of your internal Transverse Abdominus |(TVA) before you initiate the tension on the rubber band.
